Fairytale Friday #26

I have added just a light coat of copic warm greys.  I added some clear glitter gel pen to his flower for that touch of sparkle.
The papers are from the Bo Bunny Enchanted collection.the raffia lace down the centre is by the paper cellar in lemon.  The yellow square brads have a coating of clear glitter pen on.  The yellow star button is tied with grey devine twine.  I have also gone over the sentiment with the clear glitter pen too.

I have used a paper from MCS Bunny Snuffles CD. I have added flowers from the Glitter Girls (A Christmas Pressie from my Mum and Dad) and coloured round the edges with Promarkers to ties it all in.

Good morning everybody!
I hope you all are great and having a great holiday.
Just popping by today to show you one of the latest card I have made with an Old Teddy Bea image.
I have used the lovely Teddy Bea as a kitten, and I think she is fantastic!
Gabriella, my three year old saw this image on Chrissy's  challengecard and she started to cry when I said I didn't have that image..But mom, I love it she cryed...
Sooo like the kind mother I am, I asked the lovely Teddy Bo boss herself if she please could help me out! Of course bloglands best boss did that and the monster fell alsleep with the grapics in her hand.. She has made a lot of "cards" with this image and today it was my turn :)
This is what I did
Image is TEDDYBEA_103
Coloured with Copics
Papers from MME, lost and found (I love these papers!)
Fancyful Flourish from Cheery Lynn Design

"A Christmas Carol" Fairy Tale Friday #25

Now ladies and gents, we have rather a long tale today, but a tale that must be told as a warning to us all. So grab a mince pie and a glass of sherry, pull up a chair, settle down comfortably and I'll begin............

The Towers were dead, there was no doubt in Gayle’s mind whatsoever that the Towers were dead, totally lifeless, missing all the laughter, fighting and drunken singing of the DT, on top of that it was freezing cold as the heating still wasn’t fixed and Gayle was feeling rather down in dumps. She had tried to make a bit of an effort for the sake of the bears, but even Bo and Bea could feel the melancholia filling the empty rooms and hallways.

The local choir had come a-carolling, but Gayle and the bears had crouched underneath the table in the Great hall and pretended not to be at home. The choir were most disappointed, usually all the girls would come out and join in with the carols, Debbie taking the lead and singing…….. A lady in danger, no pigs in her bed, the little old geezer’s played around with Greek Fred….. which to you, me and the choir, would be Away in a manger, no crib for a bed!
Afterwards they would all partake of a minced Haggis pie and a glass of Potato Vodka, before they moved on.

Liz, who lived close by, popped in and tried to persuade Gayle and the bears to come to her house for Christmas dinner, but all Gayle would say was "It just isn’t Christmas without the DT, Christmas! Bah Humbug!"Poor Gayle she really had lost her Christmas spirit.

Late on in the day, just as the last of the daylight was fading and dusk was gently falling,  covering the snow covered ground with a purple hue, there was a knock at the front door, it was the postman’s last delivery of the day and he handed Gayle a pile of Christmas cards. Gayle stepped out to chat to him, telling him not to deliver any more cards as she really wasn’t feeling very Christmassy.

She watched the postman until he had disappeared from sight and turned to head back into the towers, only to find that the door had closed behind her. She put her hand up to the knocker ready to rap sharply on it, so that the bears would hear and come and open the door, when to her amazement and right before her eyes the door knocker changed into the shape of Cuthbert the camels head, he immediately spat into her face as camels are wont to do. She hurriedly wiped the camel spittle off her chin, before it dripped onto her best tartan blouse, and took a closer look at the knocker, only to find that it was nothing more than a knocker after all. Feeling rather bewildered, and wondering if she had eaten something that didn’t agree with her, she knocked loudly and rushed straight up to her room as soon as the bears answered the door.

Once she had calmed down, she fed and bathed the bears and put them to bed. Then she took her own meal (watered down Haggis Porridge, she really couldn’t be bothered cooking a proper meal and there was a shortage of porridge so she was trying to make it go further) wrapped herself up in a tartan blanket, put on her fingerless gloves and sat in the great hall, hunched over her bowl.
She was just about to put her first spoon of porridge into her mouth when she heard a clippety clop followed by a soft swishing sound. She looked around the room, but there was nothing untoward to be seen. Once again she settled down with her porridge and once again she heard the noise, it definitely seemed to be coming from the door leading out into the corridor. She headed over and lay her ear against the door listening intently, the noise was definitely coming from outside and was gradually getting louder and louder, suddenly she felt something cold, rough and wet on her ear, she stepped back and could see a huge tongue protruding in through the door, quickly followed by Cuthbert’s head, then his neck, hump and rear end. Around each ankle he had what was left of a leg warmer, and trailing along behind him was yards and yards of the unravelled wool of each one.

This can’t be happening, thought Gayle, I surely must have eaten a bad bit of haggis or something, "go away, leave me alone", she shouted at Cuthbert, but Cuthbert just stood there eyeing her dolefully.

“What do you want with me?”, Gayle asked him, at the same time thinking to herself, what on earth am I doing talking to a camel, it’s not like he’s going to answer me! So imagine her amazement when Cuthbert opened up his big camel lips and spoke (well it is a fairy tale after all LOL!).
“Missus Gayle” he bleated, “you need to get a grip, stop moping about and remember that the DT will be back soon  and then you will be moaning about the mess, the noise and Edna’s teeth lying around everywhere, buck up will you, for goodness sake!” and suddenly in a very good impersonation of Noddy Holder he said……!.IIIIIIIIIIIITTTT’s CHRIIIISSSSSSSSTTTMAAAAASSSSSSSSS!!!! !
I am going to send three ghosts to visit you over the next three nights, to try and get you to turn your frown upside down! Expect the first one at 1am, tonight, the same tomorrow and the last as the clock strikes midnight on the third day, and with that he disappeared in a poof of smoke.

Gayle no longer felt like her porridge, so she poured it down the sink and headed straight to bed. She slept rather fitfully, waking up each time the clock struck the hour, and then she heard it strike one. Suddenly the room was filled with a great light, and there in front of Gayle stood Helle, flames pouring out from around her face and making the most terrible groaning sounds, Oooooowwwwwww, Ow, Ow, Owwwwwww, wwwwwooooooooooooo! Gayle cowered back against the bed, feeling really quite afraid, until she realised that Helle’s hair was actually on fire and the scary noises were Helle’s groans of pain. Gayle quickly picked up her jug of water from beside the bed and poured it over Helle’s head, the flames were doused and a very bald Helle looked quite relieved.
It seems she had almost fallen into a vat of turnip tequila, but had managed to save herself from getting completely immersed, only her hair had gotten a soaking, it had then brushed against a lit candle on her way to visit Gayle and her head had burst into flames in an instant.

Anyway back to our tale, “ Gayle” she said “ I am the ghost of Christmas past and I need you to come with me and see how things used to be”
Suddenly Gayle was transported back to the previous Christmas, the DT were all busily making cards and drinking vodka, singing carols as they worked. Then Edna had come marching in demanding to know who had stolen her teeth, and once she realised that Claire had wrapped her wool around them to stop it getting tangled when she was knitting, all hell broke loose.  Edna threw a punch at Claire’s head, Claire swiftly stepped to the side so the punch missed her and landed square on Debbie’s nose.  Debbie jumped up, pushed Claire out of the way and started pummelling Edna, Claire who had taken umbrage at being pushed out of the way, jumped on Debbie’s back, pulling her hair and trying to slap her.
“Oh ghost of Christmas past, no more, show me no more of this I can’t take it any longer, take me back please take me back” Gayle pleaded with ghostly Helle, and before she could blink she was back in bed and the clock was just striking one.
Oh no not again she thought, it can’t be time for the next ghost already, but she knew it must be, as she could hear lots of jolly laughing coming from the other side of the bedroom door.
She climbed out of bed, and scrambled over to the door, opening it very slowly and peeking around it to see what terrible sight would behold her. To her great surprise, there was Tammy, dressed in a long and flowing coat of tractor tyres, sitting on a pile of presents and beckoning her forward.
“ I am the ghost of Christmas present, and you need to stop being a moaning Minnie and spoiling Christmas for everyone, touch my whip and off we’ll go” Gayle grabbed the whip expecting to be swept off her feet and go flying through the air, but instead they walked across the landing and crept into Bo and Bea’s bedroom. Bo had his arm around Bea who was sobbing, he was telling her not to worry, but all she kept saying was Santa isn’t going to come, we haven’t put a Santa stop here sign outside, we haven’t hung stockings, there are no presents under the tree, and we haven’t made any haggis cookies to go with his glass of haggis milk, mummy Gayle is so miserable and lonely and she doesn’t want to have Christmas this year” she wailed, “you never know” replied Bo, “there might be some sort of miracle at the towers and she might change her mind” “Unlikely” replied Bea, you know how stubborn she can be!”
Gayle was beginning to realise that she was upsetting the  bears, by wallowing in her own misery she was making them so unhappy too. “ OK Tammy, I get the message, the bears need me to be jolly and make Christmas for them”, “Good” replied ghostly Tammy, “my job here is done, although I am a bit disappointed that I never got to whip you into shape, it’s been a while since I gave anyone a good thrashing and the rubber is starting to rot, never mind maybe next year!”
“By the way before you go Tammy, I need to ask, those strange little hairy feet that are sticking out of your rubber coat, what are they, that’s not what your feet look like is it, I mean I wouldn’t really know as I have only ever seen them encased in rubber” ,“THIS” shouted Tammy, “This is something you need to see”, she pulled back the flaps of her coat and huddled at the ankles of her thigh length rubber boots, were two little Haggis, both holding signs, one read, Eat Turkey, the other, Who ate all our mummies?!?!?! “Hmmm” thought Gayle, we could do with a few more haggis and she took a flying leap towards them, trying to grab them as she went, only to find herself falling through the air, until she landed on her bed with a thud, just as the clock was striking twelve.
She noticed a strange shadow on the wall, which began peeling itself away and creeping across the floor towards her where it swiftly rose up and took the shape of…………Edna!
“You must be the ghost of Christmas future” cried Gayle, “show me what you must, let’s get on with it” Edna stretched out her hand, caught Gayle around the wrist and dragged her out of bed, straight out of the window and flew her through the cold night air until they reached, Dun Boozin’ the local Rehab centre.
Edna led Gayle into a dormitory and there laying on each bed was a member of the design team, all looking quite ill, babbling away about Big shots and Cuttlebug, Martha Stewart and Tim Holtz. Two doctors walked and looked down the length of the room. “Is there really no hope for them “ questioned  the younger doctor, “No, there is absolutely nothing we can do for them, far too many years of vegetable related alcohol abuse,” he replied, “that poor old dear over there is convinced that there are Cuttlebugs crawling all over her, seh claims they are caught in her fishnet stockings, we have no idea what Cuttlebugs are, the two Norwegian ladies keep asking for turnips, broad beans and chipped potatoes, but when we give them some, they try to drink them instead of eating them.
The one at the end of the room in the twin set, keeps asking the nurses to find Cuthbert and make sure he is wearing his bobble hat and legwarmers, must be her son or some relation, but Cuthbert has never been to visit, so we are not really sure.Mrs Dunn, in the third bed down believes she is married to Tim Holtz, and keeps rambling on about his picket fences being crackled and that he can distress anything, but that definitely isn't her husbands name! But the worst case of all is the Scottish lady tied to the bed over there, we have to keep her tied down in case she harms herself or anyone else, she keeps rambling on about bears, she insists that they are her babies, that they can walk and talk, dress up as snowmen and pumpkins and generally get up to mischief, she is the one we are most worried about, we think her mind has completely gone!”

Nooooooooooo, cried Gayle, I don’t want to see any more take me home I’ll be good, I’ll make this the best Christmas the bears have ever had, and I promise that I will never lose the spirit of Christmas again.
And good enough she was true to her word, she baked cookies, hung stockings, decorated the tree, invited the carollers back and gave the bears the best Christmas ever, and it was always said of her that from that day forth she knew how to keep Christmas well.

PS. She also made a vow to stop the DT from drinking too much, but unfortunately that was one promise she wouldn’t be able to keep!

Let's take a look at what the postman had delivered before Gayle had her funny turn.

Wordy Wednesday

Well guys and gals it’s nearly here. We are about to take the plunge into the calorie maelstrom that is part and parcel of the Christmas celebrations. I hate to put a damper on things but you know what it’s like someone has to say it, so today, just to keep things in perspective, here are a few pithy sayings about ssshhhhh! –Dieting!

People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown

The cardiologist's diet: If it tastes good, spit it out. ~Author Unknown

Albert Einstein, who discovered that a tiny amount of mass is equal to a huge amount of energy, which explains why, as Einstein himself so eloquently put it in a famous 1939 speech to the Physics Department at Princeton, "You have to exercise for a week to work off the thigh fat from a single Snickers." ~Dave Barry, Dave Barry Turns 50

Avoid any diet that discourages the use of hot fudge.
~Don Kardong

If nature had intended our skeletons to be visible it would have put them on the outside of our bodies. ~Elmer Rice

I keep trying to lose weight... but it keeps finding me!
~Author Unknown

I never worry about diets. The only carrots that interest me are the number you get in a diamond. ~Mae West

Rich, fatty foods are like destiny: they too, shape our ends. ~Author Unknown

If I had been around when Rubens was painting, I would have been revered as a fabulous model. Kate Moss? Well, she would have been the paintbrush. ~Dawn French

A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand. ~Author Unknown

I'm in shape. Round is a shape... isn't it? ~Author Unknown

Don't go out of your weigh to please anyone but yourself.

OK enough said!

Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!!

The top card was made with a digi kit which I played around in Photoshop (ooooo get me!) the second card is made using scrap bit of papers and the most gorgeous button ever!
